Product Datasheets

CuTex Datasheet

A geocomposite root barrier system consisting of a copper sheet mechanically encapsulated between a woven polypropylene geotextile and a high strength non-woven polypropylene geotextile. The copper acts as a signal layer that all plants avert their growth from.

FlexiRoot Datasheet

FlexiRoot is built around a tough, woven HDPE (High Density Polyethylene) material core which

is reinforced and coated both sides with LDPE/LLDPE film. This versatile membrane is suitable a range of applications.

Fleece Datasheet

Fleece Barrier adds an extra layer of protection when laying your Root barrier. Thick needle punched non-woven geotextile manufactured from 100% virgin polypropylene high tenacity fibres containing 1% active carbon black.

Product Case Studies

CuTex - Taylor Wimpey

PBA Solutions was contracted by a developer to deal with a large infestation of Japanese knotweed that was close to a boundary line, preventing groundworks and construction in the site area. Choosing CuTex for the installation created a reliable barrier against the Japanese knotweed, while allowing for moisture delivery to tree roots and preventing water logging in the soil.

FlexiRoot - Domestic Garden

Our FlexiRoot barrier has a market leading puncture resistance of 5502 newtons, yet it is flexible making it easy to install when planting new Bamboo. Furthermore, you can retro fit FlexiRoot around established Bamboo removing runners that have already extended further than the location of the root barrier.

PCA Guidance Note

Root barriers act as a physical barrier to root growth and are often specified and used to stop invasive weed species, including Japanese knotweed, growing from one location into an area which needs to be protected. The objective of using a root barrier is to segregate land impacted by Japanese knotweed from that which is free of Japanese knotweed rhizome.

Research & Performance Summary

Geofabrics Limited is a British manufacturing company established in 1992. From the outset the objective was to manufacture high-performance geosynthetics to the highest possible standards and provide engineering

support to ensure a value engineered solution to complex problems within civil applications.

Installation Guidelines

Ensure that the roll is in good condition and doesn’t show any damage due to transit. Prior to laying any sharp objects should be removed from the installation area. Soils placed against and close to the barrier should be free of any sharp objects that could potentially puncture the barrier.
